Vänern Energi serves roughly twelve thousand residents around the Karlstad area and had a sixteen-year-old marketing site built on a now-unsupported CMS. The site needed to be accessible to a wide age range, support Swedish-language content authoring, and meet Sweden's public-sector digital accessibility requirements.
How we approached it
We built a six-page marketing site on Astro with a small flat-file CMS for the news section. WCAG 2.2 AA conformance was tested page by page; the journal author flow was tested with two of the utility's communications staff during week five.
What shipped
The site has been live for fifteen months with no engineering intervention from us. The communications team publishes around eight news items a month directly. Lighthouse accessibility score sits at 100; performance sits at 98 on mobile.
